The Team: Marketing

The Role:

We are looking for a Communications Lead reporting to our CMO, Steven to help us build the brand and drive product adoption across earned channels. The Communications lead is to lead strategic communications and media, influencer & opinion leader relations across our WalletConnect efforts. In this role, you will join the Marketing team acting as the sole PR contributor working with a dynamic group of industry-recognized marketing specialists responsible for leading go-to-market PR strategies. WalletConnect’s approach to marketing creates valuable opportunities for cross-functional collaboration across events, content, social, community, strategy and more. You will be empowered to be a true owner of your work, while leveraging the shared resources, relationships and strategic support of the entire marketing team.

The ideal candidate has a results-driven comms practice and track record of strategizing and executing a variety of PR functions, in addition to a strong network of journalist, influencer and industry leader relationships. Prior experience working in web3 in related in-house, or agency roles, is required. We are specifically seeking candidates with a background in wallet, SDKs/Web3 developer tools and/or other technically complex web3 products. Candidates must have a strong interest in these topics and must be eager to immerse themselves in the industry and product.

Day to Day:

  • Lead PR campaigns and announcements— set the strategy, goals, tactics, research and execution for optimal earned media outcomes
  • Media targets — leverage existing contacts and cultivate new relationships with web3 trade press and journalists across tech, business and mainstream media (digital publications, podcasts, newsletters, video, etc.)
  • Influencer & Opinion Leaders - ensure our key messages and stories are resonant and understood by influencer, opinion & community leaders. Leveraging these key voices to help amplify and educate on our message.
  • Content creation– craft client positioning/ messaging, press releases, pitches, thought leadership commentary and briefing materials.
  • Channel Expertise - Expert understanding of existing and emerging media channels with a keen understanding of how to storytell and amplify messaging through a variety of channels from X to TikTok to Discord to Farcaster.
  • Proactive pitching– secure thought leadership opportunities across media, podcasts, and events.
  • Industry events — help curate strategic event presence and work 1x1 with client reps to secure, conceptualize, and optimize speaking opportunities at leading industry events
  • Stakeholder management– coordinate all relevant internal and external parties, anticipating needs and timelines for successful execution
  • Comms infrastructure– support in all public relations activities, managing media inquiries and executive team requests
  • Reporting– monitor, analyze and communicate PR results, creating post-report campaigns with actionable insights.
  • Market analysis– maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations on how to insert clients into trending conversations.
  • Crisis communications: advise on strategic comms to help clients navigate sensitive situations
