Sales Operations Specialist
BambooHR LLC
Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.
Essential Job Duties
As a Sales Operations Specialist at BambooHR, you'll help enable an efficient sales system that allows our Sales teams to drive maximal revenue and profitable sales. You’ll do this through providing tactical support to our selling teams and assisting on key operational projects and initiatives.
At a glance, as a Sales Ops Specialist you'll spend the majority of your time assisting our selling teams with various sales support/admin requests and tactical work. You’ll often provide assistance on other Sales Ops team members’ projects as well.
Now onto the specifics! In your day to day work, you will:
- Work within our established Sales Operations team to achieve optimal results.
- Be the front-line support to all selling teams by managing and quickly responding to a constant flow of ad-hoc sales support tickets/chats.
- Create ticketing efficiencies through identifying ticket themes and patterns, and then recommending or developing solutions that will reduce volume over time.
- Enable self-servability and knowledge capture for the team through documenting standard operating procedures and system instructions in our company wiki.
- Complete sales system maintenance and administrative tasks (such as provisioning/deprovisioning sales rep accounts, updating lead distribution pools/weighting, correcting opportunity records, resolving failed form submissions, administering out-of-bounds consequences, creating requested reports/dashboards, etc.)
- As needed, contribute to project work and strategic initiatives driven by other Sales Ops Managers or Sr. Sales Ops Managers on the team.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Sales or Operational Experience: You have 1-2 years of sales, operations, or project management experience (SaaS environment preferred).
- Sales Understanding: You have a general knowledge of sales processes.
- Salesforce Skills: You are familiar with Salesforce CRM (as either an end user or a backend admin).
- Business Acumen: You think like a business person first, understanding business language and the role of Sales Ops within the broader business context.
- Analytical Skills: You have intermediate Excel skills (able to manipulate data with basic formulas) and your natural inclination is to seek out data to inform your decisions, rather than going with your gut.
- Operational Passion: You love finding inefficiencies and coming up with innovative solutions that sometimes challenge the status quo—it fuels you!
- Prioritization Skills: You ruthlessly prioritize when balancing multiple projects and requests, and can distill what is most important vs what is urgent.
- Problem Solving Approach: You’re able to not only identify problems and issues, but also conceive and propose a number of potential solutions.
- Diagnostic Thinking: You dig deep and identify root causes instead of jumping to obvious conclusions or just treating symptoms.
- Flexible Tenacity: You don’t give up at the first sign of trouble and keep pushing, even if it means taking a different approach.
- Communication Skills: You’re an effective communicator (both verbally and in writing), and can motivate change without direct authority.
- Results Orientation: You recognize that your day-to-day work is just a means to an end and that the real objective is results.
What Will Make Us REALLY Love You
- Education: You’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree.
- SaaS Exposure: You have experience working in a fast-moving SaaS environment.
- Certifications: You’ve earned certifications in project management, Salesforce, Salesloft, Chili Piper, LeanData, Chorus, or Six Sigma.
- Growth Mindset: You have a positive, can-do attitude and are motivated by growth and learning. You’re not afraid to try new things!
- Systems Theory Approach: You’re able to recognize the interconnected nature or series of inputs and outputs that produce results.
- Process Engineering: You can design and improve scalable and repeatable ways of doing things.
- Organizational Dynamics Perspective: You’re often thinking about how groups of people adopt new behaviors, make decisions, etc. and love to understand human/group behavior.
