What You'll Do

As the Technical Program Manager at BambooHR, you will play a critical role in driving the planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of cross-functional technical projects within our organization. You will collaborate closely with IT, Security, and Engineering teams to ensure the successful completion of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

You will:

  • Lead end-to-end project management for complex technical initiatives, overseeing project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure across IT, Security, and Engineering departments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, budget estimates, and risk assessments.
  • Effectively communicate project status, updates, and risks to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies, critical path, and potential bottlenecks, making adjustments as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure technical requirements are accurately captured, tracked, and met throughout project life cycles.
  • Proactively mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans and providing timely resolutions to maintain project momentum.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging cross-functional teamwork, knowledge sharing, and effective communication.
  • Monitor project performance metrics and KPIs, producing regular status reports and executive summaries.
  • Coach and mentor project teams, providing guidance on project management best practices and driving continuous improvement.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of proven experience in program or project management, with a track record of successfully managing complex technical initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of IT, Security, and Engineering domains, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical teams.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., Agile, Scrum, JIRA, Wrike).
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high-quality results.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
